Octavia Springer (Maynard) Nelson

Octavia Springer Nelson, 98 of West Salem died Thursday May 12, 2016 at her home.

Funeral Services will be Saturday May 14, 2016 @ 12:00 P.M. at he Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem with Pastor Rebecca Jones officiating..  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.  Burial in Hazzard Cemetery, West Salem.  Online condolences may be shared at the funeral home website at www.mattesonfh.com.

She was born September 22, 1917 in Haney, West Virginia the daughter of Burgess and Nancy Maynard.

She was a homemaker all her life and was a member of the West Salem Church of God.

She is survived by five children, James Neece of Cleveland, Audrey Griffitts of Middleport, Ohio, Nancy Carper of Orwell, Ohio, John Bentley of Bradenton, Florida and Margaret Bentley of West Salem, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Her parents, husband, daughter, Jeanie Usher, brothers and sisters died previously.
