On Monday October 16, 2017 after a period of declining health Elizabeth A Miller Burket reached the end of her journey of life and has passed through the wonderful door that leads us into God’s presence.

Elizabeth was born on October 21, 1928 in Roaring Spring, PA to Clarence S and Margaret Ruth Albright. Liz was a graduate of Roaring Spring High where she was a good student and was active in many activities including secretary of student council and played clarinet in the band.  After graduation she attended Indiana College for two years where she studied home economics.  Liz then decided that marriage and a family was the right choice for her.

She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Robert Miller on Oct. 30, 1948.  Liz and Bob started out in a little twenty-seven foot trailer that they moved between job sites for Bob’s work in pipe line construction.  They purchased their first house when it was time for the children to start school.  They settled in Lodi and later West Salem where they resided until Bob’s passing on March 23, 1989.

Liz had been a member of Rebekah Lodge for many years.  She also had been a Girl Scout leader, attended homemaker club and enjoyed bowling and doing needlepoint.

Liz found love again when she became reacquainted with Russell Burket a former classmate from her home town.  They were married on Dec. 19, 1999.  They resided in Roaring Spring and spent the winter months in Brooksville, FL.  Sadly Russ passed away on Nov. 11, 2012.  This loss brought Liz back to Ohio where she spent many happy times enjoying her family especially the grandchildren.

Surviving are sons Bob Miller and Ernie(Pam)Miller and daughters Kay(Jack)Shidler and Joanna(Tim)Ruegsegger and Gloria Oesterling, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Nevin Albright, a sister Mary Kay Lewis and a niece Beth Ann Lewis.

Family and friends may call Thursday 6:00 to 8:00 at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem.  Services will be Saturday October 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Roaring Spring, Pa with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Online condolences may be shared at the funeral home website at mattesonfh.com
