I have known Carl & Nora for several years from when they would come to visit Tom & Jackie and family to more recently when Carl and Nora lived in Princeton, Iowa. I really enjoyed Carl's thoughts as we watch the Mississippi River roll by....
his optimism about working on the Princeton House and his tomato garden out back. Thoughts and prayers to his family. A Friend, Steve Henson

Oh man, where to begin? I have so, so many good memories: burning the crap out of my feet on the tank of one of his motorcycles down at the WV house when I was a tiny kid, the cow that he got me (i know i named her, but dont remember what), the boxing gloves, the pool table, the camping/ canoe trip us McQuate men took where we apparently barely escaped intact, the HUGE plates of food at the holidays, the American flag, John Wayne on the walls, the beer and of course, the larger than life character... always smiling (and often with a quick smart-ass comment). I miss "Uncle Carl" already. Hang in there Nora and the rest of you. Love you guys! xo

I am so sad to hear of Carl's passing. Please know how sorry I am Nora, Lynette, Jackie and family. Carl was one of the nicest dads while we were growing up. He always had a smile for you. Later when I saw him and Nora at a function or around West Salem he would always have a hug for me. I know that Pat and Deanna were waiting for him in that light!
Love,
Robin Robinson
