Tina M (Petry) Smith

Tina M. Smith of West Salem died March 22, 2020 at her home in West Salem. Tina was born in Ashland, Ohio on December 1, 1957 to parents Leon and Alverta (Fowler) Petry. Tina graduated Ashland High School in 1976 and then from the OSU Mansfield Branch with an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She worked as a teacher’s aide at West Salem Elementary school and then at Northwestern Elementary school when the schools merged. She ended her working career at Phantom Fireworks where she was the Assistant Manager for over 10 years.

Tina loved her all of her family and her dogs very much. Tina was a fan of all types of sports. She loved watching the Cleveland Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes but her favorite was the Cleveland Indians. When her children were in school, she was always there cheering them on.

Tina is survived by three children: Allison Smith and her husband Aziz Sabuwala, Charlotte, NC; Nicholas Smith, West Salem; Stephanie Smith and Husband David Yambor, of Norton Grandchildren: Cyrus and Lincoln Sabuwala; Brother Rod (Cindy) Petry,of Ashland. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Due to the current health crisis the family will be having a Memorial Celebration of Life Service at a later date.
