Roger Parsons Obituary

Roger A. Parsons 73 of West Salem, Ohio died on February 13, 2024 at UH Samaritan Hospital of Ashland. Roger was born on August 26, 1950 in Meigs County, Ohio, son of Dorsa and Jessie Parsons. On September 19,1971 he married Nancy Blake in Akron, Ohio together they had two children. Nancy died August 12, 1986. November 14, 1987, he married Rebecca Carpenter who survives. Also surviving are his children, Angela (Duane) Brant and James (Connie) Parsons; grandchildren: Jarrod and Joshua Brant, Hunter, Madison and Grayson Parsons; great grandchildren: Julian (Little Man) and Maverick (Wee Man) Brant; sister, Joyce White; brothers-in-law: Gary (Sandi) Carpenter, Mike (Carol) Carpenter; sister-in-law, Roberta Carpenter and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Ruby Hupp & Jean Wells; his brother, George; father and mother-in-law Lloyd and Lola Carpenter; sister-in-law: Jean Carpenter.

Roger retired in 2012 after 35 years of working for Custom Hoist in Hayesville. His favorite pastime was fishing. Roger also enjoyed woodworking and playing music. He had such a passion for fishing, he was a founding member of Ashland County Bass Masters.

Visitation for Roger will be Friday, February 16, 2024 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem. Memorials can be sent to Ashland County Cancer Association, 1011 E.
