Roberta (Lybarger) Krempel

Roberta “Biddy” (Lybarger) Krempel, 90, departed this world and joined the Lord in eternal life on February 15, 2025.

Roberta was born on February 22, 1934, in Mount Vernon to the late Vera (Mapes) Lybarger and Robert Lybarger. On February 4, 1956, she married James “Jim” Krempel and they celebrated 66 wonderful years together until his passing in 2022.

During her life, Roberta dedicated her time to her family as she raised two sons and took on the role of homemaker. She was also a faithful member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in West Salem, Ohio. She took joy in spending time with her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She loved the simple things in life, such as feeding the birds and watching them from her window, including her favorite avian visitor, Billy the Barred Owl, who frequented the trees across from her feeder. She loved flowers and greatly enjoyed the vibrant floral gardens around her home. She was known to frequently tell jokes just to see someone smile.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Jim Krempel, her brother Jack Lybarger, and her son Christopher Krempel

She is survived by her son Robert (Hazel) Krempel, her daughter-in-law Christine Krempel, her three grandchildren Monica (Jason) Zirkle, Brandon (Sal) Smith, and Kailey (Cory) Beegle, and four great-grandchildren Jaden Yurick, Emory Sherrick, Gunner DeJulius, and Isaac Beegle.

Roberta’s Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 21st at St. Stephen Catholic Church in West Salem, Ohio. Visitation for friends and family will be between 10 am - 11 am in the gathering room at the church and the Funeral Mass will begin at 11 am. Roberta will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Ohio beside her husband.
