Peggy L Landis, 80 of West Salem died on Saturday August 5, 2023 at Burbank Parke Care Center in Burbank, Ohio. She was born in Wooster, Ohio on February 1, 1943 to parents Harold and Madaline (Albright) Geiselman. She graduated from Wooster High School where she played clarinet in the Marching Band. She retired from Western Reserve Group in Wooster where she was a senior claims adjuster.
Peggy enjoyed traveling to Holmes County, eating at buffets, time with family, watching ice skating, and watching the General Hospital TV show every day at 3:00 PM. She also loved attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events and activities. Peggy was a past member of the First Church of God and then attended Reedsburg Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son Mike (Kathy) Smith of Orrville; step children: Kevin (Becky) Covert of Wooster, Ray (Lena Canfield) Landis of West Salem and Brian Landis of Georgia; grandchildren: Ashley, Taylor, Brandon, Brittany, Andrew, Ben and Carlie; greatgrandchild: Avery; sibling: Kathy Campbell; her first husband; Clarence "Sonny" Smith of Wooster, many nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Rodney Covert in 1994 and Ray Landis Sr. in 2012; and brothers: Harold Geiselman and Kenneth Lee Geiselman.
The funeral service for Peggy will be on Friday August 11, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem with Pastor Sue Rodgers officiating the service. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster.
