Pauline (Kline) Hawthorne passed away in her care taker’s home on June 7th, 2021 of natural causes. Pauline was born March 21, 1923 near West Salem, Ohio to John and Ruth Kline.
She graduated from Congress High School in 1941. She lived in Wayne Co. until she met and married the lover of her life, Tony Hawthorne, in 1946. They lived in Akron, Stow and Cuyahoga Falls from 1946 until 1996 when they moved to Wooster. They were married 59 years when he preceded her in death on Dec, 29, 2006.
She was involved in many clubs, church groups and civic organizations throughout her life. She enjoyed many summer trips with Tony and her sons. She especially loved camping with friends and family.
Pauline is survived by her sons: David (Sarah), of Polk, Dennis of Akron and Dale of Rocky River; sisters: Virginia (Ralph) Cochrell, Sue (Jerry) Ungerer and Linda R. Kline, all of Wooster, brothers: John (Rita) Kline and Robert (Linda) Kline of Redhaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Evelyn Daniels, Donna Silverman, Carol Cochrell and brother Gene Kline.
The Memorial Service for Pauline will be on June 15th, 2021 at 2:00PM at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, with Pastor Bud Olszewski officiating. The burial will follow the service in West Salem Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to LifeCare Hospice of Wooster, 1900 Akron Rd, Wooster, OH 44691.
