Mary Ellen (Saunders) Worcester

Mary Ellen Worcester (nee Saunders), 81, of Lodi, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 31st, 2021 after a few years of declining health caused by MS.  Mary was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 24, 1940.  She was the beloved wife for 50 years of Ernest Worcester, who was also her devoted caregiver for the last 6 years.  Mary is survived by her loving children Tracy (and Rick) Wasmer, James, Heath (and Jessica) Worcester, and Amanda (and Paul) Barstow.  She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Rick, Clay, and Cory Wasmer, Kaili Worcester, Cecilia, Scott, and Sloane Worcester, and Reese and Trent Barstow.  Mary is also survived by her sisters Nancy (and Lyle) Alleman and Jane (and Gilbert) Perram and many other family members and friends.  She will be missed by all who knew her.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Loretta Saunders and daughter Terri Drogell. 
   Whoever said “nobody will remember how clean your house was...” never met Mary!  She loved to work hard and spend time with family.  She was a meat-wrapper for years, but her true passion was real estate.  As an award-winning realtor, she brought joy and memories to many home buyers.  Her hobbies included gardening (her flower gardens were beautiful), cleaning house, cooking and baking.  She enjoyed planning and hosting parties and get-togethers for family and friends, especially the Saunders Family Reunions and holidays. 
   Mary has been cremated, and per her wishes a memorial celebration in the form of a picnic will take place at a later date. Matteson Funeral Home of West Salem is assisting the family.
