Martha Sue (Gould) Koberstein

Martha Sue Koberstein, 61 of Polk, Ohio died on Monday, September 25, 2023 in Mansfield General Hospital. She was born to parents Kenneth and Phyllis (Wertz) Gould on February 14, 1962 in Ashland, Ohio. She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1980. She got married to her husband of over 40 years on November 27, 1982. She previously worked at the Ashland East Main Street Branch of Huntington Bank. Martha and Wayne enjoyed riding their Harley Davidson motorcycle together. They were members of the Mansfield Hog Group. She enjoyed helping with their family grain farm, going on small shopping trips with her mother and sisters, and mostly spending time with her family especially her granddaughter Annie.

Martha is survived by her husband, Wayne; two children, Christy Koberstein and Rudolph (Laurel) Koberstein, granddaughter, Annie all of Polk; her parents, Kenneth and Phyllis Gould of Ashland; sisters: Deb (David) Heller of Wooster; Diane (Paul) Cawood of Ashland and Sandy (Jon) Burkholder of Hayesville. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Beatrice Wertz and Denton Wertz.

Visitation for Martha will be on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Matteson Funeral Home of West Salem. Funeral Service for Martha will be on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM located at the Matteson Funeral Home with Pastor Douglas M. Smyczek will be officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Cemetery.
