Obituary

Lois Jean Stephens, 83 of Ashland died Tuesday September 13, 2022 at UH Samaritan Hospital in Ashland.

She was born December 16, 1938 in Dunlo, Pennsylvania the daughter of Leon and Barbara (Selapack) Stephens.

Lois retired in 2002 from the US Department of Labor where she worked as a wage and hour investigator.

In her earlier years she was a member of the United Methodist Church in Buffalo, New York. When Lois moved to Ashland she became a very active member in the Emmanuel Church in Ashland. She enjoyed singing in the church choir.

In Lois's spare time she liked to make things by crocheting and knitting.

She is survived by her sisters, Zona McCarthy, Doris (Neil) Knight and Linda Bohl, nephews, nieces and a good friend Matthew Schaeg. Her parents, infant brother; Joseph died previously

Lois's wishes were for there to be no service. Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be given to Seneca Street United Methodist Church, 1218 Seneca Street,  Buffalo, New York 14210. Online condolences or pictures of Lois may be shared with the family at www. mattesonfh.com.
