Kathryn Sue (Graf) Gortner

Kathryn Sue Gortner (Graf) better known as “Kitty” passed away on October 29, 2023 following a prolonged illness. Born December 11, 1951 to Raymond and Corrine (Kaufman) Graf of Wooster. She married the love of her life Ronald Gortner Sr. on December 13, 1969. Kitty is survived by her mother: devoted husband Ronald of 53 years: children Ed (Holly) Gortner of Carroll, Rusty (Jenna) Gortner of West Salem, and Katie (Nick) Slanczka of West Salem: Siblings Gail (Debbie) Graf of Massillon and Heidi (Mark) Jeffery of Wooster. She had 6 grandchildren; Gavin, Lindsey, Brittany, Colt, Tucker, and John; 2 Great Grandchildren Gracelynn and Alexander.

Kitty devoted her life to her family. Her love of music as a member of both Wayne County Choral Union and Unity Singers.  Her faith was very strong in the Lord as she sang in many church choirs and solos in Sunday morning church services. She was also a staple in the Sheep barn at Wayne County Fair as she loved being a shepherd to her flock of registered sheep for 40+ years. She drove school bus for Northwestern Local Schools for many, many years.

The visitation for Kitty will be November 2, 2023 from 5PM-7PM at the Matteson Funeral Home. The Funeral will be November 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Matteson Funeral Home with Chaplin Daron Butler officiating . With burial at Mohican Church of the Brethren Cemetery to follow.
