Jane (Massie) Burgan

Jane Burgan 80, of West Salem, Ohio died Wednesday October, 25 2023 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Jane was born in Lodi, Ohio to parents Samuel and Goldie (Shulz) Massie. She married Robert Lee Burgan May 6, 1963. Jane enjoyed being a cook at Northwestern Locals School until her first grandchild was born in 1996. Then she retired to babysit her grandchildren. Jane loved traveling to Florida so much that she would start talking about what activities she had planned for her next trip soon after she arrived home. Some of her hobbies were crafting, reading books and scrapbooking. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren and her dog Bandit.

Jane leaves behind her daughter, Bobbi (Brad) Rush; son, Brian (Jodi) Burgan; grandchildren: Brennen (Tori Smart), Brooke, Bryce and Brock Rush and Kyle and Kara Burgan; sister, Jodi (Bill) Opie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Burgan who died March 29, 2017 and brother, Gerald Ross Massie.

Visitation for Jane will be Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 1:00PM at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem. The funeral service will be at 1:00PM at the funeral home with burial at West Salem Cemetery to follow. Pastor Josh Chaffin will be officiating the service.
