James A Dalton Sr., age 78 of Litchfield went to be with the Lord with his loving family by his side on October 12, 2020.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa and brother.

Jim was born October 17, 1941 in Bluefield, VA to Walter and Kathleen (Whitaker) Dalton. He married Linda D Copley Neavill October 17, 1976. He was a tool and die maker for 50 years.

He enjoyed watching the grandchildren, play soccer and basketball. He enjoyed fishing, nature and woodworking.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Linda are son, Jay (April) Dalton of Lodi, daughter, Lori Chenevare Southgate of Michigan, daughter, Renee (Brian) Boyle of Spencer, son, James (Nancy) Dalton of Litchfield and son, Chad Neavill of Big Prairie, 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sister, Lucy Lawson of Annapolis, Michigan, sister, Arlene Taylor Farmville, Virginia, brother, Randy (Sandy) Dalton of Middletown, DE, brother, Doug (Becky) Dalton of Tazewell, VA. He was preceded in death by both parents, brother, Willard Dalton, brother, Curtis Dalton, and brother, Claude Dalton.

Memorial Service will be Tuesday October 20, 2020 at 5:00 PM at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, Ohio with Pastor Pam Hahn officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home  In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105 or Hospice of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Road, Medina, Ohio 44256-8613.
