James (Jim) E. Banks, 56 of Sullivan went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2020 at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland. Jim was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 20, 1963 to parents Walter Larry and Shirley Mae (Hornshy) Banks. He was one of 13 siblings. Jim marred his wife Debbie (Feckley) Banks on February 19th, 1983 and they had four wonderful children together.
Jim’s greatest love of his life was his grandchildren. He waited his whole life to be a grandfather. He also loved his dog Mya. She went with him everywhere. Jim worked at West Asphalt for over 20 years and then he eventually retired from Aspludh. He was very involved in his church. He helped with the outreach, the addiction recovery program and he was a head usher. He was very passionate about Cleveland sports even when the teams were not so good. Jim also had a special place in his heart for Tom Brady. He really loved going to the Y and exercising whenever he could. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time at Town and Country Camp Ground. He was always there cutting grass and helping with other maintenance around the camp ground. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. He enjoyed being outside. He loved worship and country music, fishing and playing cornhole.
Jim leaves behind his wife Debbie (Feckly) Banks; children: Richard (Melissa) Banks, Randy Banks, Jamie (Robert) Banks, and Katie Banks; grandchildren: Savannah, Riley, Lincoln, Raelynn, Noah and Ashton; Dog: Mya; Sister: Patti Banks and other siblings and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and many of his siblings.
Services for Jim will be held on Saturday, September 5th, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. with visitation starting at 11:00 A.M. and concluding at the beginning of the service. The services will be located at Beyond the Wall Church located at 101 Woodford Ave, Elyria, OH 44035 with Pastor Paul Grodell officiating. Burial in Huntington Center Cemetery.The family is being assisted by the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem.
