Gerald E. Lane

Gerald E. Lane, 83 of Ashland died Saturday July 23, 2022 at his home.

He was born September 15, 1938 in Ashland the son of Homer and Eunice (Caton) Lane.

Gerald graduated from Ashland High School. He retired from National Latex in Ashland.

 Gerald married Hazel (Cogar) Lane February 8, 1988. She survives.

  Gerald and Hazel enjoyed spending winter months in Alabama for 16 years where they made many friends.

 Gerald raised beautiful flowers and hearty vegetable gardens. He enjoyed coaching baseball and was an avid Cleveland Guardians Fan. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Salem and a former member of the Ashland High School Athletic Boosters.

Gerald is survived by his wife; Hazel of 34 years, children; Gary (Kandy) Lane, Jeff Lane, Brenda (Ed Amend) Lane and Jeremy (Allison) Lane, step children; Gean Riffel, Martin (Lori) Riffel and Dennis (Carol) Riffel, three grandchildren, and a great granddaughter; eight step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren. His parents and brothers; Kenneth and Floyd Lane died previously.

Funeral Service will be Thursday July 28, 2022 at 11:00 at First Baptist Church in West Salem with Pastor Jerry Arman officiating. Visitation for Gerald will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00at the First Baptist Church, 26 Market Street in West Salem. Burial will be in Nankin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or First Baptist Church, Building Fund P.O.
