Gavon A. Mullet, 41, of West Salem passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at his home.
Gavon was born August 27, 1977 in Millersburg, Ohio, the blonde-haired, blue-eyed son of George and Cindy (Stallman) Mullet. He married Kelsey Cleaver on September 17, 2011 in Smithville. He attended Wooster City Schools and Green Local Schools, where he graduated from Smithville High School. He was employed by Seaman Corporation.
Gavon was a devoted father to children Gunnar, Avery, Cash and Kacey Mullet. His love for the scholar- athlete, soccer star, ninja and princess was unmistakable. His refrigerator and social media pages were covered with his proudest daddy-daughter, first day of school and baseball pictures.
His sense of humor was contagious; Gavon could bring you to tears with tales of his narrow escapes from snakes or wild dogs, vacations, crazy costumes or parenting adventures. He was a die-hard Penn State fan, and never met a sport he couldn’t play. Gavon also coached baseball and basketball for Northwestern Schools, and loved nothing more than heckling the referee over a bad call.
Gavon attended NorthWinds Church in West Salem, where he served in many areas.
In addition to his wife and children, Gavon will be deeply missed by his parents and siblings, Andy (Kellie) Mullet of Burbank and Gwen (Craig) Zimmerly of Holmesville; nieces and nephew, Peyton and Hunter Mullet and Sadie Covert; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Services will begin at 12:00pm on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Church of the Cross United Methodist, 5100 Cleveland Rd., Wooster, with Pastor David Purdy officiating. A lunch and time of remembrance will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service, from 10:00am-12:00pm, at the church.
Memorial contributions can be made to Matteson Funeral Home, PO Box 314, West Salem, OH 44287, to defray funeral expenses. Online condolences can be share at mattesonfh.com.
