Edmund O Becker

Edmund O Becker, 87 of West Salem went to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Wooster Community Hospital He was born on February 25, 1934 to parents Harold and Marjorie (Meeker) Becker in Congress Township. He married his wife of 63 years Phyllis (Whipple) Becker on August 10, 1958. He retired on February 1999 from the Wooster City Water Treatment Plant after 23 years. He was an active member of the Northview Alliance Church in Wooster where he served as an Elder on the Church Administrative Board and Church Choir. He was also an active member of Mohican Church of the Brethren where he participated in the church choir. He was an original charter member for Northwestern Ruritans. Edmund also enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening, golfing, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Edmund is survived by his wife: Phyllis (Whipple) Becker, children: Sherri (Kim) Wellert of West Salem and Michael (Cheryl) Becker of West Salem; 5 grandchildren: Jonathon (Jamie) Wellert, Jeremy (Anna) Wellert, Jessica Wellert, Justin Becker and Cameron (Tara) Becker; 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a private service held for the family. At a later date there will be a Celebration of life service. Matteson Funeral Home of West Salem is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be sent to the Mohican Church of the Brethren, 7759 Elyria Road, West Salem, Ohio 44287.
