Donald R. Erwin, 77 of Wooster, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. He was born May 30, 1942 in Columbus, OH, son of Robert G. and Jean (Atkinson) Erwin.
He graduated Linden/McKinley H.S. (Col) in 1960. Served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army 67/68. Retired from both Columbus Auto Parts and The Alpha Group of Delaware. He was a life member of VFW Post #3297 in Delaware, OH.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Sharon A. (Gerber), brother, David (Jeri) Erwin (Westerville), son, Jeffery S. Erwin (Col), Granddaughter, Valerie Beyer (Col), grandsons, Joseph (Desiree) Beyer (Prospect), and Nicholas A. Beyer (Col), 4 great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He loved his family, friends, fishing, bowling, vacationing, and The OSU Buckeyes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Donna J. Burchett, and daughter, Christine (Erwin) Laird.
Viewing will be one hour prior to the 12:30 service on Monday March 23, officiated by Chaplain Daron Butler at Matteson Funeral Home, 40 Congress Street, West Salem, OH, followed by burial at Western Reserve Veterans Cemetery in Seville.
