Diann M (Turk) Fortune

Diann M (Turk) Fortune, 84 of Polk, Ohio went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Samaritan Medical Center in Ashland.

She was born Sept. 21, 1939 in Medina the daughter of Carl and Lydia (Miller) Turk.

Diann graduated from Polk High School in 1957.

She married John R. Fortune Nov. 2, 1957 who preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2009.

Diann had worked for the Good Shepherd Nursing Home and later for Wayne County Department of Health Services as a typist.

Her hobbies include vegetable gardening, canning, reading the Bible and working on the farm. Diann showed Guernsey cattle and was a 4-H Advisor for over 30 years.

She enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns, Ohio State Football and her grandson playing ball.

Diann was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Homerville and Ashland and Sisters or Mary and Martha.

She is survived by her daughters; Connie and Pam Fortune of Polk and Teresa Sulander of Polk, grandchildren; Chad Michael Fortune of Mansfield, John Carl (Kellie) Fortune of Celina and Seth (Stephanie) Fortune of Illinois, six great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, a brother; Ted (Sandy) Turk of Hayesville and a special dog; Ollie.

Diann is preceded in death by her husband, parents and an infant sister; Sarah.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem with Pastors Norman Johnson and Jon Hall officiating Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial in Polk Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Matteson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 314, West Salem, Ohio 44287 to help with the funeral expenses.
