Cheryl J (Mckee) Drysdale

March 5, 1949 — September 23, 2019

Cheryl J. Drysdale, 70 of Gladstone, Michigan died peaceful Monday evening at her daughter’s home after a long hard fought battle with cancer. She was formerly of West Salem, OH. Cheryl was surrounded by her family and an OSF Hospice aide at the time of her passing.

Cheryl was born March 5, 1949 in Painesville the daughter of Theo and Grace (Clark) McKee.

She married the love of her life Daniel Drysdale on July 28, 1984. He sadly preceded her in death on October 2, 2012. Cheryl graduated in 1967 from Nordonia High School. She worked for Cyrus Eaton Farm where she served as a cook. She drove a parts truck for the Union Steel Workers, she was the first female ticket agent at the Colosseum and also served as a union steward. Cheryl also worked in janitorial services for the state hospital. After marrying Dan she worked at MciIvaine’s John Deere stores in Wooster and Ashland, and then they opened their own business.

Cheryl and her late husband owned and operated D & C Tractor Repair in West Salem. This was not only a business, but was a big part of their lives. They viewed the farming community as family.

She was a member of Truth Baptist Church. Cheryl was a storyteller, avid Gladstone Brave and Cleveland Indian fan. Her hobbies included fishing, ground hog hunting, and crocheting. Cheryl “Grandma Peaches” had a magnetic personality that attracted people young and old. You could always find Cheryl surrounded by friends and family. She would go out of her way help anyone who needed it and offer humorous stories or quotes to lighten the mood. Her infectious laughter will be missed.
