Cathleene Marie (Betty) Parks began her life journey in Beatrice, West Virginia on February 25,1930 born to Austin Morris Parks and Opal Mae Freed Parks.
Betty is survived by her brother Harold W. Parks of Sandusky, Ohio. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charles Orlan Parks, Harry F. Parks, Howard B. Parks, Lester D. Parks and Austin L. Parks. Also preceding her in death were sisters Pauline Parks Johnson, Eledean Parks Cunningham and Madeline Parks Wells. Betty was also preceded in death by numerous brother and sister-in-laws.
Betty enjoyed being outdoors, taking car rides, listening to country music, rocking in a rocking chair, sitting in a recliner to watch people and what was going on around her. She also enjoyed watching wrestling on TV. Betty lived her life in West Virginia until 1983. She then moved to Ohio to spend time with her family. As years passed Betty was supported by a host of wonderful people in many different places. Most likely her most favorite were her supporters at Echoing Hills, Warsaw Ohio. They loved her unconditionally and just ‘got’ Betty and her quirky personality. Our thanks to all Direct Support Professionals who lend themselves so unselfishly to others.
Betty will be laid to rest in the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Harrisville WV. on Wednesday March 9, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
