Annie L Toney, 95 of West Salem died June 4, 2021 at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.
Annie was born January 25, 1926 in Talladega, Alabama the daughter of Bryon and Winnie (Morris) Marbury.
She had been an educator for the Cleveland Public Schools in the Elementary Division: where Annie was a Classroom Teacher grades 1-6, 1956-62; Dunham, John Burroughs School; an In-Service Training Teacher, 1962-63: Case Woodland, and Gladstone Schools; an Assistant Principal: 1962-66: John W. Raper, Capt. Arthur Roth Schools and ending her education career as a Principal at Woodland School, 1966-70; Miles Standish School, 1970-1982.
Annie was a member of Sorority (AKA) Alpha Kappa Alpha. Annie was an outdoors enthusiast and was very busy in activities at the Cinnamon Lake Lodge and in her community. Her hobbies include flower gardening and scrapbooking. She was also an avid traveler and took every opportunity to do so, Rome specifically being one of her most favorite.
Annie is Survived by: Dolores Toney, Daughter-in-Law; Jennifer Toney (Luke) Beck, granddaughter; Kensington Reign and Mackinleigh Grace, great granddaughters; Jonathan Michael Toney, grandson; Albert (Helen) Marbury, brother; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins
She was preceded in death by: Son, Michael Byron Toney; Parents, Winnie and Byron Marbury; sisters: Nettie and Vivian and brother: Walter Marbury.
Funeral Services will be Sunday June 13th,2021 at 3:00pm at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, Ohio, with Pastor Matt Potosky officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial at a later date in Highland Park Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio.
