Thomas Michael Patrick Lauer, 75, of West Salem, passed away June 21, 2017. He was born July 13, 1941 in Galion, Ohio to the late Charles and Faye Lauer. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Faith, brother, Dave(Deloris)Lauer and sister Marge Miller of Florida.
Tom lived and worked most of his adult life in the Mansfield area. He loved nature and spent many afternoons arrowhead hunting, metal detecting and watching old westerns. Tom was a bigger-than-life character who always had a story to share with his many friends and family and was loved by all.
He had 3 children: Andrew(Kimberly)Lauer, Gina(Todd)Windsor, Tracey (Scott)Schroeder: 4 grown grandchildren, Kelli Lauer, Jordan Windsor, Joshua Windsor and Jacob Windsor, and 6 great grandchildren. Though his marriage to Faith, Tom's family expanded to include 4 step children, Dedra(Mel)Hoffman, Chad(Rhonda)Weber, David Weber and Danny Weber and 4 great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In respect of Tom's wishes, the family held a private service. Matteson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
