Ronald E. Macika passed away and met our Lord on December 10, 2024. He was a 1964 graduate of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon graduation, he entered the Jesuit novitiate at Columbiere College in Clarkston, Michigan. Thereafter, he continued his studies at the University of Detroit. Upon graduation, he chose an alternative life path and became a parole officer with the Adult Parole Authority of Cleveland, Ohio, where he guided parolees towards a life of independence. He then moved on to work with AT&T in Cleveland and Seattle before returning to Cleveland to finish out his career. He always believed in living his life in alternative pathways and encouraged others to go outside their comfort zones. Ron often loved hiking in the Cleveland Metroparks and encouraged others to enjoy its beauty. He was dedicated to the welfare of animals and supported the Wayne County Humane Society of Wooster, Ohio. He is survived by his two brothers, Edward Macika of North Canton, Ohio, and Jim Macika of New Orleans, Louisiana and Jim Macika’s wife of 34 years, Jane. He was a dedicated uncle to triplet daughters of Jim and Jane Macika: Shannon, Erin, and Allison and loved them dearly. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wayne County Humane Society of Wooster, Ohio.
