Roger D Swanson, 75 of Ashland formerly of Cinnamon Lake, West Salem died Friday evening at Brethren Care Village in Ashland.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday August 18, 2015 @ 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in West Salem with Pastor Jerry Arman officiating. Friends will be received at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 and one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery.

Roger was born August 23, 1939 in Lodi the son of Wayne and Ruth Kathryn (Yergin) Swanson.
He graduated from Northwestern High School 1958
He worked on the roads for Congress Township, Jackson Township and Wayne County Highway Department.
He loved fishing, gardening and making furniture.
He loved the Lord and the First Baptist Church where he was a member.
Survived by his wife Anna (Johnson) Swanson whom he married in 1960,
Two sons, Michael Swanson of West Salem and Robert (Brenda) Swanson of Ashland, 5 grandchildren, Freddie Swanson, Ben Swanson, Brandon(Cassie) Swanson, Teressa Roar and Jeremy (Jenny)Roar, 9 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Hayley, Emma, Grady, Kaleb, Kameryn, Blake, Madeline & Kinsley and a sister, Bonnie Geiser.
His parents died previously.
