Friends will be received at the Matteson Funeral Home, 40 Congress Street, West Salem, Ohio Saturday 29, 2012 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Cremation will follow.

He was born March 20, 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Robert and Hazel (Leslie) Courie.
He had worked as a body man. Robert loved his family and enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar.
He is survived by his wife Shirley (Crosby) Courie six children- Bobby Courie of Virginia, Jason Courie of Colorado Crystal Smith of Virginia, Nikole Courie of Virginia, Faith Courie of Elyria and Niyol Courie of Thompson
Five step children- Derek, Autumn, Mikhail, Cliff and Erika
His mother Hazel Courie of Medina
Four brothers- James (Linda) Courie of Lodi, Gary (Cindy) Courie of Medina, Jeff (Barb) Courie of Homerville, Danny Courie of Medina and a sister Darlene Courie of West Virginia
