Richard F Cooke Jr., 72 of Cinnamon Lake died Sunday morning  November 18, 2018 at his home.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM on Wednesday November 21, 2018 at St Stephen Catholic Church, 44 Britton St., W. Salem with Father Thomas Stock officiating.  Friends will be received at the Matteson Funeral Home  in West Salem on Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  Burial in West Salem Cemetery with military rites conducted by James Stevenson American Post 499.  Memorial may be given to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, Ohio  44691.

Richard was born September 4, 1946 in Williamsport, PA the son of Richard and Mary (Bangert) Cooke Sr. He graduated from Parma High School in 1965 and Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in 1972.

Rich met Carol Maschak while serving in the US Navy and they were married April 4, 1970.

Rich retired from Ford Motor Company in 2004. He attended St Stephen Catholic Church in West Salem where he was an Eucharistic Minister, Youth Group Leader and was proud to be a member of the third Order of St Francis since 1998.

Rich loved camping, boating, car racing, roller skating and roller coasters. He  was active at Cinnamon Lake and also served on the Environmental Committee.

Rich is survived by his wife Carol.  He was a proud parent of Christina  ( David) Ennis, and their son Gavin, Joleen Winebrenner and her sons, Mason and Keller. He is also survived by his mother Mary Cooke , four brothers, a sister, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
