Rexanne Ward

Rexanne Ward age 82 passed away peacefully at Avenue at Wooster on May 3, 2026. She was born October 29, 1943 in Lodi, Ohio, the daughter of Rex and Mildred (Mendenhall) Ward. Rexanne lived her entire life in Wayne County.

Rexanne was a 1962 graduate of Northwestern High School and attended Akron Beauty School and then the Vocational School to train in nursing. In her early life she worked a variety of jobs, but caregiver proved to be her niche. For 30 years she provided assistance to a number of senior citizens so they could remain in their homes as they aged.

Visiting with family and friends brought her joy and her home was never without a cat. Rexanne loved all animals and the beauty of nature.

Rexanne is survived by close cousins, friends and a foster sister, Melinda (Ryan) Gray. She is preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Horace Reece, and her maternal grandparents, Hobert D. and Leota Mendenhall who raised her.

Respecting her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private family burial will take place at Congress Cemetery.
