Raymond Eugene Landis, “Ray”, passed away October 22, 2012 after a heroic battle with cancer. He was at his home, surrounded by his beloved family, and he fought courageously until the very end.
Ray was born November 24th, 1940 in Sterling, Ohio, to Clyde and Mary (Martie) Landis. He attended Lodi High School and then joined the Navy. Ray loved spending time with his family. He taught his children the importance of hard work, but also how to live a life full of fun and laughter. Ray never knew a stranger and had a joke for everyone.

Ray is also survived by children Raymond (Lena Canfield) Landis, Jr. of West Salem; Brian (Kelly) Landis of Georgia; Mike (Charlene) Murray of Wooster; Steve (Andee) Murray of Polk; Diana Murray of Arizona; Mike (Kathy) Smith of Orrville; Kevin (Becky) Covert of Wooster; 16 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. Ray is also survived by sisters Carole Lawson (Paul Ickes) of West Salem; Shirley (Randy) French of Ashland; Marilyn Kinney (Roger Powell) of Lodi; and a brother Roger Landis of Florida. In addition, many nieces and nephews will fondly remember their “Uncle Ray”. Willis, Ray’s faithful canine companion, will miss him dearly.
