Peter John Lipian

January 14, 1951 — February 28, 2023

Peter John Lipian (72) of Wooster Ohio passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short illness, to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of February 28, 2023.

Mr. Lipian was born in Cleveland, Ohio, grew up in Broadview Heights Ohio and was a graduate of Brecksville High School.  He was a loving husband of Cheryl Lipian, brother, brother-in law, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, friend, and a Christian mentor to many.  Over his many years, he was a mechanic, professional auto body repair man, truck driver, firefighter for the Broadview Heights Fire Department (winning the firefighter of the year award in 1983), volunteer for the Cleveland City Mission and the Salvation Army. Throughout his professional responsibilities, he was first and foremost a man dedicated to his family, friends, and his Christian faith.  He was proud of his Ukrainian heritage and especially proud of his children, Ryan Lipian, Adam Lipian, Cheryl Ann Lipian and Esther Lipian.  He loved to work on cars and any type of machinery, enjoyed working in his yard, playing with his cats, singing, and spending time with his many grandchildren.

He was a generous and outgoing person who was always willing to help anyone in need or to give advice or spiritual guidance to his family and friends.  He was an avid Bible reader and prayer warrior, strong in his faith, a man of integrity and strong moral convictions.  In a day and age when many people have weak or no moral standards, Peter Lipian stood as an example of deep faith, moral courage, steadfast character, principled ethics and dedication to what is good and beautiful.

Peter is survived by his wife of 42 years; Cheryl (née Akelis) Lipian of Wooster, children; Ryan (Breanne) Lipian, of Charlotte, NC, Cheryl (Harold) Wellert of West Salem, Adam (Ashley) Lipian, of Lake Wylie, SC and Esther Lipian of the home, 11 grandchildren; Aubrey, Kailey, Chase, Charlotte, Keith, Autumn, Chloe, Caroline, Callie, Mackenzie and Mason, siblings; Hank (Barbara) Lipian, Katherine (Paul)Holowczak Ferder and Frances Levy.

He is preceded in death by his father Henry Lipian Sr. and his mother Katherine Lipian (née Strutinski), an infant son and daughter, brothers-in-law; Deacon Joseph Michael Levy PHD and Paul Holowczak.
