Paul L Taylor, 81 of Ashland died Saturday January 13, 2018 at Crystal Care Center in Ashland.
Funeral Services will be Friday January 19, 2018 @ 11:00 a.m. at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem with Gary Connell officiating. Friends will be received Thursday evening 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home. Burial in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville. He was born September 2, 1936 in Walton, West Virginia the son of Darrell and Hazel(Patrick)Taylor and was married to Gwendolyn(Simms) Taylor on March 4, 1957. She survives.
Paul served in the US Army. He retired in 1993 from the Cloverleaf School System where he was a custodian.
Paul became a license minister in 1967 and was the pastor of the First Baptist Church in West Salem for 13 years and the Triangle Baptist Church in Chippewa for 6 years. He is a member of the First Baptist Church in West Salem.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Pamela Connell of Ashland, 3 grandchildren, Heather, Paul and Jasmine Connell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Carolyn Taylor, brothers, Carl and Lester Taylor, sisters, Janet Glace and Wanda Taylor and his step mother, Opal Taylor.
