Paul Charles Mickolick

October 12, 1981 — April 19, 2025

Paul Charles Mickolick, 43, of West Salem, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Lodi Community Hospital. He was a Town and Country paramedic/firefighter who gave the ultimate sacrifice dying in the line of duty.

He was born on October 12, 1981 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Charles and Marie (Fricke) Mickolick. He was a 2000 graduate of Olmsted Falls High School and received his Associate degree in paramedicine at Cuyahoga Community College in 2003.

Paul was employed as a Flight Paramedic for Cleveland Clinic Critical Care Transport for 16 years. He served on the Town and Country Fire Department for the last five years where he received his instructor and inspector certifications and proudly worked full time as a paramedic/firefighter for the last three years. He was also a member of the Town and Country Fire and Rescue Association where he served as secretary. At the annual department banquet, Paul received an award for running the most calls in 2024, finally surpassing Chief Hory.

Paul enjoyed snow skiing, watching Cleveland sports, especially the Browns and attending as many Dave Matthews band concerts as he could. He was very adventurous and loved spending time with his family traveling to Disney World, the Smoky Mountains, Mexico, and Cedar Point.

Above all, Paul was a devoted husband and father who worked tirelessly to support and care for his family. He embodied strength, selflessness, and lived to serve others as a first responder.

Paul is survived by his wife: Rachel (Graven) Mickolick whom he married on July 24, 2010, children; Connor and Elise; family dogs, Oliver and Poppy; father, Charles Mickolick; brother, Tanner (Angelica) Escobar; in-laws, John Graven and Jamel West; brother-in-law, Zachary (Nicole) Hutton; sister-in-law, Marisa (James) Robinson; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.
