Pasha Seifried

d. December 30, 2025

Wooster

Pasha Seifried, a Russian Blue cat, pedigreed as Tylona’s Koenigsee, died a few days short of his 16th birthday on December 30th, 2025 in Wooster, Ohio. Pasha was named after a character in Doctor Zhivago. He was born in Milan, Michigan. Even at his first drive home, he did not enjoy long car rides! Fortunately, his family eventually discovered he loved big band jazz music so much, he would ride happily for hours as long as it was playing. As a kitten, he loved to jump onto the very tallest objects, watch life from above, and race around like crazy until he took a very long daytime nap. At night, he enjoyed crawling into anything noisy and sleeping in hard to find places. He always kept cool by stretching one paw outside the blankets he was wrapped up in. His meow always sounded like he was saying the words “Hello” and “Mom” to everyone’s astonishment. He immediately gained admirers wherever he went due to his incredible good looks, green eyes, purple toes, and super soft double coat of fur. He was so regal, he was once called a “house lion”!

His early nickname was “Trouble” due to his curiosity for hard to reach places. He was always a refined gentleman with his taste for only fresh tap water, healthy foods, and elegant poses by the window…until he went to the vet, where he transformed into the total opposite, a feral fur ball of terror! At home, he loved to interrupt anyone using a keyboard or pen, nuzzle faces or pen tops, and collapse onto books or notebooks for attention. He never hesitated to settle down in the middle of toys while they were in active use as a quiet spectator. He loved sitting on the gray deck with his gray fur, invisible to most, and soaking up the sun.

Pasha never really understood why his humans slept at night. He loved to walk into a nursery and loudly meow “Hello!” to wake up sleeping children. He could always be found on the glider in the nursery, keeping a careful eye closed, his purple toes stretched out.

Pasha loved his family members. He loved how one would take him on walks, not always according to his own will, in the neighborhood. He loved the endless hugs, snuggles, and consolations. He loved baskets and boxes. He loved watching the pet hamster like it was a tv and drinking out of fishbowls with no interest in eating the fish. Pasha stared down giant stuffed tigers and lions to show them he was boss! His favorite toy was a crinkle catnip frog. He loved it when kids put treats in Playmobil cities and then had him walk around like Catzilla!

Pasha was a very holy cat. He never watched the television unless it was a broadcast of Holy Mass during the Covid-19 shutdown. He would rush over whenever Mass was on and then lose interest when Mass was over! Otherwise, he always reminded his people to not watch tv by walking in front of the screen and stopping to clean his paw.

Pasha, always in our hearts.
