Mildred I Metcalf 97 of Ashland died April 1, 2012 at Crystal Care Nursing Home in Ashland.
Funeral services will be Wed. April 4, 2012 at 11:00 at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem with Brother Daniel Baer officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial in West Salem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of North central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.

She was born May 15, 1914 in Creston the daughter of Jacob & Martha (Markley) Steele.
She retired Dec. 1, 1981 from Cresco Mfg in Ashland after 43 years of service.
She attended the Mansfield Gospel Assembly.
She is survived by sister-in-law Margaret Steele of Homerville, nephews Ralph Howard Steele of Sullivan, Randolph Steele of Polk and Michael Steele of Homerville, nieces Gloria Recuperio on Bedford Hts., Penelope Steele of Mansfield, Valerie Steele – Schmidtz of Homerville and Connie Tuko of Ashland.
Her first husband Dale Shakley, second husband Kenneth Metcalf, sister Mabel Holmes, brothers Ralph and Elmer Steele, nephews Ronald Steele and Eric Steele and nieces Linda Steele Landis and Diana Marsan died previously
