Mary E Nicholls

Mary Elizabeth Redding Nicholls, age 92, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by love on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Mary was born on January 1, 1928, making her the first baby of the year to be born in Bloomington, Ohio. Mary touched the lives of countless individuals having been a school teacher in Northwestern School district for 25 years, a yoga instructor until she was 88 in Wooster, a pianist at Congress Community Church, and a volunteer at The Wilderness Center in Wilmot. Mary is fondly remembered for her storytelling, singing, artwork, and her profound love of her dogs. She is survived by her children, Martha (Chert) Nompone, Bob Nicholls, Ruth (Gary) Agee, and Jane (Steve) Pinkley, and son-in-law, Pong Thiemmedh; 12 grandchildren: Lad (Malia), Simon (Michele), and Mercy Nompone; Nicole, James, and Chelsea Nicholls; Lacey (Sam) Filkins, Drew (Heidi) Adkins, Kayley (Zach) Carpenter, and Chase Adkins; Matt and Josh Pinkley. 12 great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Sierra, and Nicholas Crawford; Lyla and Sadie Nompone; Elijah and Shiloh Nompone; Peyton, Lincoln, Leah, and Carter Nicholls; Harrison Filkins. One great-great-grandchild, Jakobe Dixon. And her beloved dogs, Jake, Finn, and Molly. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marion (Maxwell) Redding, brother David A. Redding, daughter Kitsy Thiemmedh, husband of 41 years, Donald J. Nicholls, and the love of her life, David Knight. Mary's family welcomes you to come celebrate her life with them on Saturday, September 19 between 4-7pm at 7893 Shilling Road, West Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's name to The Wilderness Center, 9877 Alabama Ave SW, Wilmot, OH 44689.
