Mary Jane Mobberly passed away quietly from cancer on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024 at Lifecare Hospice in Wooster, Ohio reuniting with her parents, husband and beloved sister, Sharon Kay and her sons. Mary Jane was born on Feb 17, 1936 in Yorkville, Ohio to John M. Mobberly and Audrey E. (Nalley) Mobberly. She weighed only 2 pounds at birth and was kept warm in a shoe box surrounded by heated bricks and her fathers handkerchiefs were used as diapers. Her favorite place to play as a young girl was the family farm in Marr, Ohio. She graduated from Yorkville High School in 1954 where she was head majorette. After high school she attended Ruth Brant School of Nursing in Martins Ferry, Ohio graduating as an RN in 1957. In 1957 she married Thomas Robinson and later they moved to West Salem in 1960. Unfortunately Thomas passed away in 1975 due to a tragic accident at their home. Mary Jane worked at Lodi hospital as head nurse for 20 plus years before taking a position as director of nursing at the Ohio Pythians Home in Medina, Ohio. Missing the bedside care aspect of nursing, she moved on to the VA Nursing Home Division in Brecksville, Ohio where she retired from Nursing after serving over 40 years in her profession. Thomas and Mary Jane had two children who survive. Robin Robinson (Doug) of Wooster and Thomas Robinson (Robert) of West Salem and one grandson, Joshua Grieve of Spencer. There are numerous others left behind who also referred to her as mom, companion, friend, and grandma. She was loved by so many. Mary Jane's hobbies included spending time with her family, she was an avid lifetime reader, (never knew her to not have a book in her hand) she loved world history and her family genealogy. Her greatest love of all however was caring for others. Mary Jane told the story that while as a child an angel appeared one night proclaiming her calling in life was to become a nurse. She was the very best nurse that anyone could ever be in many ways. All those who experienced her as their caregiver will attest to this. Even in her final days she was telling her attending nurses how to care for her. Mary Jane was a beautiful, loving, woman who would walk through fire for her family and friends. Her final words attest to the wonderful human being she was,"I just want everyone to be happy". She will be greatly and sorrowfully missed by those who had the good fortune of crossing paths with her. She made the world a better place. A celebration of life for Mary Jane will be held this coming Spring where she will be interred next to her late husband Thomas Robinson and other members of her beloved family at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Graysville, Ohio.
