Mary Jo Garrison, 87, of Pleasant Home, passed away peacefully Sunday December 5, 2021 at Hospice LifeCare Wooster following a brief illness. She was surrounded by the love of her family.

Mary Jo was born September 1, 1934 in Hundred, WV to Lee and Anna Pethtel. She married Harold Garrison April 8, 1955. He preceded her in death May 14, 2008.

She loved her family and friends passionately and unconditionally including her children; Brad (Jane), Brian (Dounia) and Lisa. Grandchildren; Shannon, Spencer, Erin, Kyle, Kaitlyn and nieces and nephews. There was nothing she would not do for them.

Mary Jo was a cook for Northwestern Local Schools and one of the long-standing foundations of the Pleasant Home Community. She appreciated the love and support of her wonderful neighbors over the years.

She showered everyone in her life with love, support and especially baked goods. She was known for her amazing pies, cookies and chocolates and shared them generously.

Mary Jo was preceded in death also by her parents, siblings and her grandson Kyle.

Private family services will be held Saturday December 11, 2021 at Matteson Funeral Home with burial at Congress Community Cemetery. A celebration of Mary Jo’s life is being planned for spring/summer 2022.

Memorial contributions may be given to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd, Wooster, Ohio 44691. Matteson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would find great comfort if you shared a memory or picture of Mary Jo on the funeral home's website at mattesonfh.com
