Margaret Louise (Sooy) Comstock, 90 of Ashland died peacefully Thursday January 28, 2016 at Crystal Care Center in Ashland.
Memorial Mass will be Wednesday February 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St Edward Catholic Church in Ashland with Fathers, Rod Kreidler and Carl Uhler officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday 3-7 at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem. Online condolences may be shared at the funeral home website at www.mattesonfh.com Memorial contributions may be given to Hunger Project at St. Edward Catholic Church.
She was born August 13, 1925 in Alpena, Michigan the daughter of Alfred & Gladys Comstock.
She received her bachelor of Science degree from Marygrove College, Master of Science degree from University of Detroit and PhD from Ohio State University.
She was a wonderful accomplished woman, devout Catholic, beloved school teacher at Mapleton High School, school board member and private pilot. In retirement she bred British White Cattle.
She has served on various charities.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Kevin) Mulhall, Katie (Jeff) Willison, Al Zimmie and James (Patti) Zimmie, 6 grandchildren and great grandmother of 1 and half, daughter-in-law, Bandana Zimmie and her beloved dog, Lizzie.
Her son, William E Zimmie III preceded her in death.
