Lucille L.A. Pritt

Lucille “Lucy” Lou Ann (Walden) Pritt, age 71, of West Salem, Ohio, loving wife, mother, and grandmother gained her wings on Saturday, September 19, 2026 while surrounded by family.

Born on April 24, 1955 in Medina, Ohio, Lucy was the 4th of five children born to the late Elmer M. and Helen M. Walden. She was raised in Mallet Creek, Ohio and graduated from Buckeye High School in 1973. It was there that she met the love of her life, Virgil Pritt.

Shortly after graduation, Lucy married her high school sweetheart. Together they made their home just outside of West Salem, Ohio, where they built a life that included having two children, a few dogs and cats, 52 wonderful years of marriage, and countless treasured memories.

Lucy dedicated her life to her family and was always there with a listening ear, a warm embrace, words of encouragement, and a loving smile. She loved flowers, feeding the squirrels, having family gather together for the holidays, and playing with her kitties. She was “adopted as Mom” by all the neighborhood kids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth Walden; and sister, Virginia Arnold.

Lucy leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Virgil L. Pritt of West Salem, Ohio; her son, Robert L. (Jacquelyn) Pritt of Wadsworth, Ohio; her daughter, Jessie L. (Richard) Varney of West Salem, Ohio; her grandsons, Jerrod (Ashley) Varney and Jacob (Makayla) Varney, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; her granddaughter, Jaylin Varney of West Salem, Ohio; her great-grandchildren, Alexis and Leo; her sister, Frances (Ben) Lawson of Mansfield Ohio; her brother, Frank Walden of Medina, Ohio; her mother-in-law, Marilyn L Pritt of West Salem, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Lucy’s kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Matteson Funeral Home, 40 Congress Street,  West Salem, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Jon Hunter officiating. Burial will take place afterward at Hazzard Cemetery West Salem, Ohio.
