Lois Arden Yehlik was born March 13, 1941 in Lakewood, Ohio. After a long courageous battle with cancer, she passed gracefully in her home surrounded by family on April 15, 2015; at the age 74.
She and her husband of 55 years, Francis Edward Yehlik, were blessed with a lifetime filled with family, travel, and great friends.
Lois was an adoring wife, a patient mother, endlessly kind, and worked many years as an office manager. She enjoyed golf, sewing, knitting, performing arts, and travel. She was an active member of the ladies sorority of Beta Sigma Phi and many golf leagues. She and her husband traveled the western hemisphere, seeing new places and never meeting a stranger. She was a constant supporter to her children and grandchildren. Her graceful presence, cheerful laughter, and kind heart were a comfort to her family and those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Bob and Doris Beebe, and her brother Tommy. She leaves behind her husband Frank Yehlik and six children Laura (Will) Rollin, Bud (Judy) Yehlik, Janet (Spencer) Hershey, Shelley Storch, Karin (Tony) Crawford, and Alise (Chase) Newby. Eleven grandchildren Nathanial (Kat) Rollin, Jeremey (Amanda) Rollin, Patrick Yehlik, Brett (Angie) Hershey, Brandi Hershey, Spencer (Chelsea) Hershey Jr, Logan Hershey, Teagan Storch, Chase Crawford, Liam Newby, and Noah Newby. She also leaves 5 great grandchildren and counting.
Viewings will be held Sunday April 19, from 1-3 and 5-7; at Matteson Funeral Home , 40 Congress St. West Salem, OH.
A Funeral Mass will be Monday April 20, 2015 at 11:00 held at St. Stephen Catholic Church in West Salem, OH with Father Thomas Stock officiating. A luncheon at the church hall will follow. Private burial service will be held for family at Ashland County Memorial Park.
