Lewis F Morford Sr., 91 of West Salem died Sunday August 24, 2014 at his home.
Memorial Service will be Friday Sept 12, 2014 @ 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in West Salem with Pastors Floyd Costello, Laura Angel and Carlos Hernandez officiating. He was born Sept. 6, 1922 in Westfield, Indiana the son of Clifton and Frances (Overman) Morford.
He graduated in 1940 from Westfield High School in Indiana.
He served in the US Air Corp from 1942 to 1946.
He married Doris B Beery on January 25, 1942 who preceded him in death on October 12, 2013
He was a meat cutter for Hy-Grade Packing Co in Indianapolis for 26 years and
retired in 1986 from Moorman Manufacturing in Quincy, Ill. He had been employed at the Farmer’s State Bank in West Salem
He was a former member of the Friends Church in Hortonville, Indiana and a member of the United Methodist Church in West Salem and Northwestern Ruritans. He volunteered at the West Salem Messenger.
He is survived by two children, Jeanne (Ed) Chowning of Avon, Indiana and Dean (Charlotte) Morford of Pemberville, Ohio, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
His parents, a son Lewis Morford Jr., a brother and 2 sisters died previously
