Karl E Luhring

Karl E. Luhring of West Salem, OH, passed away on January 5, 2025. He was born on June 28, 1940, to Earl Lewis and Virginia Doris Luhring in Fostoria, Ohio. He graduated from Northwestern High School Class of 1958. He joined the Marine Corps from August 1958 to September 1961. He married Laura E. Helbert on November 10, 1961. Karl worked at International Paper, The Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, and Advanced Drainage before finishing his career as a D.H.I. Supervisor with Dairy Herd Improvement Cooperative. Karl was a former Boy Scout and 4-H leader. Karl enjoyed attending auctions and collecting toy tractors.

His children survive Karl: Mark (Peggy) Luhring of Wooster, OH; Cindy (Bill) Bowers of Orrville, OH; Keith  Luhring of Canal Fulton, OH; Kevin (Buffie) Luhring of Sand Lake, MI; Brian Luhring (Tina Cunningham) of Sterling, OH, Fred Luhring, Loudonville, OH; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and four brothers, James, Richard, Raymond, and Charles Luhring and a daughter-in-law; Tammy Luhring. A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, at Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, Ohio. Calling hours will be from 1-3 p.m., with services beginning at 3:00 p.m. Instead of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions to be sent to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
