Together Again
Judi Shell, 87 of Burbank, Ohio passed away at Hospice Life Care surrounded by
Family on January 4th, 2023. Judith was born in Cleveland Ohio to parents
Arthur Henry and Elizabeth (Betty Young) Stark of Cleveland, Ohio. Judi
graduated from Bay Village High School, then attended Carnegie Mellon
University and graduated with a Fine Arts Degree with a focus in Sculpture! Judi
married her husband, Dennis B. Shell in 1964, after meeting him in Westlake
Porter Public Library where she was a Children’s Librarian. Judi became a
Mother of three the day she married Bob, and she loved and nurtured them all.
Four years later, another child was added to the family through adoption. As the
children grew over the years, Judi attended Cuyahoga Community College to
earn her degree in Nursing. Judi spent many years working in several capacities
at Lodi Community Hospital, the Emergency Room being her favorite! Judi then
worked for Cambridge Home Health Care as an RN and enjoyed teaching First
Aid & CPR Classes.
Judi loved to travel, she and Bob would drive miles upon miles across our
Country & Canada. They also spent endless hours bird watching and gazing
upon the stars together. Judi also enjoyed books of all kinds, painting, drawing,
shopping, cooking & baking! Judi loved to entertain and host parties for
everyone that she loved! She & Bob hosted annual Christmas Parties with
different ethnic themes each year. Birthday Celebrations were also high on her
list, with gourmet food and spoiling everyone with gifts & sweets!
Judi leaves behind Children, Denise Shamp of Burbank; Robin (Gail) Shell of
Wooster; Jonathan (Ann Marie) Shell of Wooster; 7 Grandchildren; 13
Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great-Grandson; cats, Purcey, Esmeralda, &
Bob’o’link.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Elizabeth & Arthur Stark; her Great-
Grandchild George Nesbit; her son Roger Shell; her husband Bob Shell; her
sister Kathy (Stark) Schmid; and cat Emmaline Hearts and Flowers.
Services: Family & Friends will gather for A Celebration of Life this coming
Summer! (to be announced at a later date)
