Joseph Ray Grogan

Joseph Ray Grogan, affectionately known as Joe, passed away on August 26, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Akron, Ohio. He was born on March 24, 1954, in Webster Springs, West Virginia to parents; Marquerite Gay (Armentrout) and John Vincent Grogan Sr..

Joe graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Taylor, Michigan, and went on to build a strong work ethic that marked much of his life. In the early 1980s, he was the fifth person hired at Premium Building Products in West Salem, where he worked as a machine operator. That role reflected the dependability and commitment he carried throughout his years.

He enjoyed the simple things that brought him happiness and connection. Joe liked watching the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns, and he had an interest in collecting Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. He was also a member of the Amvets. Among the things that meant the most to him was working on his truck, a passion he took great pride in. He especially treasured spending time with his stepchildren and grandchildren, creating memories that will remain close to their hearts.

Joe is survived by his mother, Marquerite Lons; his brothers, Tommy Knight and Forrest Russel; his sister, Joyce Daugherty; his stepchildren, Tom Cooper and Janet Cooper Roberts; and his grandchildren, Joseph Cooper, Leslie Dye, and Philip Dye nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He will be remembered with love by his family and by those who knew him through the many everyday moments that made his life his own.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Vincent Grogan Sr.; his brother, John Grogan; and his wife;Fannie Grogan.

A graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Williams Road, Homer Township 44287 will be announced at a later date. May Joe’s memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
