Joseph J Elek

Joseph J Elek, 87 of West Salem died Monday July 16, 2018 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.

Visitation will be Friday July 20, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Matteson Funeral Home, 40 Congress St., W. Salem. Memorial may be given to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio  44691.

He was born July 24, 1930 in Cleveland the son of John and Lucille (Uhas) Elek.

Joe retired in 1992 from Allstate Insurance Company where he was a claim adjuster.

He enjoyed Golfing and watching NASCAR racing.

Joe is survived by daughters, Linda (Jim) Zimmerman of West Salem and Elaine (Chip) Murdock of Priest River, Idaho, five grandchildren and a great grandchild, a brother, Jack (Mitzi) Elek of Columbia Station and a sister, Lucille Elek of California.

A son, Joseph (Joey), his parents, a brother, Daniel and a sister, Alcion died previously.
