Jon D Shadley

Jon D Shadley, 81 of West Salem died on August 16, 2021 at Wooster Community Hospital. Jon was born on May 2, 1940 to parents James and Mary (Smith) Shadley Sr. in Jackson Township, Ohio. He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1958. Jon served in the U.S. Army. He married his wife, Cindy (Kahl) Shadley on November 11, 1972. After 23 years Jon retired from Westfield Companies where he worked in the printing department. Jon was a member of the James Stevenson American Legion Post 499 of West Salem. He enjoyed his crossword puzzles with the group at the Cornerstone, bowling, golfing, the Browns and the Indians.

Jon leaves behind his wife Cindy L Shadley; daughters: Kelly (Vance) Kimble of Westfield Center and Carrie (Eric) Vozar of Polk; grandchildren: Angie (Troy) Wohlgamuth, Nicholas (Jenny) Kimble, Hayley (Kirk) Kimble, Jordan Sims and Andrew Sims; great grandchildren: Tate, Adisyn, Talynn and Kellen. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Rita Crebs and James Shadley Jr.

The Funeral Service for Jon will be on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11:00am at the Matteson Funeral Home with Pastor Beryl Baum officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening, August 19, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at West Salem Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by James Stevenson American Legion Post 499.
