Joan Carlson, 94 of West Salem died Monday September 17, 2018 at Riverview Pointe Care Center in Olmsted Falls.
Funeral Mass will be Friday September 21, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St Stephen Catholic Church, West Salem, Ohio with Father Thomas Stock officiating. Burial in Ashland County Memorial Park, Ashland, Ohio.
She was born February 18, 1924 in Johnstown, PA the daughter of Herman and Magdaline (Callahan) Litzinger.
She married Charles Carlson on February 16, 1986 . He preceded her in death
Joan retired in 1988 from Clearview District in Lorain where she taught third grade for 26 years. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in West Salem. Joan loved her many cats.
Joan is survived by long term friends, Raymond Hirsch and Rosemarie Spisak.
Her husband Charles Carlson and sisters, Jean Wolfe, Mary Jude Litzinger and Frances Koontz died previously.
