Jane L (Hopkins) Wilson
August 25, 1947 — September 12, 2014
Jane Louise (Hopkins) Wilson, age 67, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2014 at home after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was a strong woman that always found a reason to smile, even on her last day on earth. She is survived by her devoted husband Larry, daughter Jessica (Ben) Korman, son Peter (Zhenya) Ollis, sister Elaine (Aaron) Doynow, brother Arthur Hopkins , father Bill (Kathy) Hopkins & many loving grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her mother, Madeline (Lacidonia) Hopkins.
Jane’s greatest treasure in life was her grandchildren. Her eyes sparkled brighter than any star in the sky whenever she was with them and loved spoiling them with ice cream & goodies. As she would say, “Isn’t that what grandmas are for?” .
Jane’s heart was full of compassion towards all living things and she always seem to “find” cats, dogs & other animals that were in need of a home, food or medical care. Her family could never find it, but is sure there is an invisible “Welcome” sign outside her home that would lead these animals to her door. Perhaps they knew her heart would always let them in.
One of Jane’s great gifts in life was her cooking skills as she thoroughly enjoyed cooking for family & friends. Cooking was a gift of love & one would never be hungry after visiting with Jane as she insisted “Mangia, mangia” to all who walked through her doors.
Family & friends are invited to a celebration of Jane’s life on September 28, 2014 at Buffalo Creek Retreat, 8708 Hubbard Valley Rd. in Seville, Ohio at 2pm. Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at the funeral home website @ www.mattesonfh.com
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions be made in Jane’s honor to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, OH 44805, whose angels cared for Jane in her final weeks.
