James E Munchick

May 3, 1941 — January 11, 2022

James E Munchick, 80, of Westfield Center Ohio died on Tuesday January 11, 2022 at Pomerene

Hospital in Millersburg. Jim was born on May 3, 1941 in Bellaire Ohio to John and Anna (Hanasky)

Munchick. He was a graduate of Shadyside High School and received both his undergraduate and

graduate degrees from Ohio University. Jim was retired from Cloverleaf Local Schools where he taught

Industrial Technology. He was also a manager at Dragway 42 in West Salem. Jim was very involved in

his local community and was a long time volunteer with Westfield Center Fire and Rescue. Jim was an

avid spectator at his children and grandchildren's sporting events. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being

outdoors. He was also a Civil and World War enthusiast. Jim is survived by his wife Patricia (Baylus)

whom he married on August 22, 1964 and his children Jennifer (James) Gear, Julie (James) Gillette,

James P Munchick and Jill Munchick as well as eight grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at a

later time to share memories with family and friends. The Matteson funeral home is assisting the family.
